Strawberry Milkshake Cheesecake Recipe

Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake – Vanilla ice cream blended with real strawberries and a slice of cheesecake makes for a rich, indulgent strawberry cheesecake milkshake!

Milkshakes! I am such a fan of them now, but I am also very picky about them. They gotta be (1) thick, (2) full of flavor (no boring vanilla shakes for me!), and (3) loaded with texture, whether it be chunks of topping or gooey globs of caramel or fudge.

Strawberry

I mean, just look at the milkshake I posted last year – the Ultimate Cookies & Cream Milkshake. This milkshake was made in my dreams. Not only did it have my favorite ice cream flavor in the world, those garnishes were unreal! Needless to say, my next milkshake would have a tough act to follow.

The Best Strawberry Milkshake

If last year’s milkshake was made just for me, this year’s milkshake was all about my husband. He is obsessed with the Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzard at Dairy Queen. Have you heard of it? It’s a Blizzard loaded with stawberries, graham cracker crumbs, and chunks of cheesecake.

To make this milkshake, I wanted to use real strawberries and real cheesecake to give the shake a chunky texture. So that’s why I used vanilla ice cream as my base and added those ingredients to it. You just wouldn’t get the same texture from using strawberry ice cream and sweetened cream cheese.

Another thing to note about this recipe is that I don’t use a lot of milk. I like my milkshakes nice and thick. Therefore, I just add 1/2 cup of milk to this recipe with 3 cups of ice cream just to help the mixture come together. Plus, the juice from the strawberries helps add a little liquid too, so you really don’t need much milk to liquefy the ice cream.

How excited are you to try these shakes?! They’re so decadent and fruity at the same time – just the perfect treat for the hot hot summer! I hope you get a chance to make them soon!!Swirls of strawberries and graham cracker crumbs give these Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshakes a fun flair. These frozen drinks are a great way to cool off on a hot day.

The past few weeks we have been enjoying the lazy days of summer in our new home. We splashed in the pool and bobbed in the waves at the beach trying to cool off. We also walked around the outlet malls looking for new school clothes as summer came to a close.

One thing that we had to get used to was the climate change. We were used to the dry heat of Texas, but not the humidity and daily rain of Florida.

Easy Fresh Strawberry Milkshake

Thank goodness for an icemaker in the fridge and lots of ice cream in the freezer because fun chilly drinks will need to happen often.

Someone introduced me to this strawberry milk. The milk is creamy with a sweet strawberry flavor. It reminded me of when I would make ice cream “soup” as a child. Please tell me I wasn’t the only one who would stir ice cream until it melted. Ok, so maybe I was the only strange one who did that.

After a few hours of beach fun this past weekend, we came home hot and sweaty and ready to cool off with a fun drink. I had picked up fresh strawberries, strawberry ice cream, and cream cheese to blend with the strawberry milk.

I am always looking for fun ways to incorporate cheesecake into everything we make. These strawberry cheesecake cupcakesare always a favorite treat, so I knew that flavor would be perfect for a milkshake.

To jazz the drinks up, I layered the strawberry cheesecake milkshakes with pureed strawberries and graham cracker crumbs. Adding a fun striped straw and a fresh strawberry on the side made each drink look like it came from an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.

Get ready to enjoy the last few days of summer by mixing up some ice cream and milk into a frozen creamy drink full of cheesecake goodness. You can thank me later!

As you read this (assuming you’re reading it the day it posted), I am on my way to the BlogHer Food Conference in Miami!! I cannot wait! It’ll be so fun to see friends, meet new ones and spend time with my roomie Julianne from Beyond Frosting. We met back in February and she is the best!

Plus, I’m stoked to be back in South Florida for a few days. I’ve decided it’s my heaven. I love it. The only bummer is that the hubs couldn’t come with me – he has to work.

I can’t wait to tell you all about the trip when I’m back. If you’re interested, follow me on instagram – I’ll be sharing photos all weekend!

But in the meantime, you must make this cheesecake. Every time I take another bite, I can’t stop eating it all over again.

It’s not as thick as some of the other no bake cheesecakes I’ve shared – I think because of the Nesquick mix – so you’ll want to make sure to keep it in the fridge right until you serve it. And as much as I dig a thick cheesecake, it doesn’t bother me one bit that this one isn’t as thick.

And the chocolate Oreo crust is the perfect compliment for it. I considered nilla wafers, graham crackers and even golden Oreos, but the chocolate contrasts and compliments the strawberry just like it should.

The hubs has gone totally crazy over this cheesecake. I was told I couldn’t give any away. That’s always a good sign.

And honestly, I kind of didn’t want to. Except that I’m trying to eat better and eating an entire cheesecake doesn’t really go with that goal real well. Bummer. But as much as I hate cutting back on my sweets, fitting into old clothes has been really nice.

Strawberry Milkshake (4 Ingredients!)

And because it’s no bake, it is so easy to make. The crust is just Oreo crumbs, melted butter and sprinkles mixed together, then pressed into the bottom of a springform pan.

The filling is mostly cream cheese. Added to it is some sugar, vanilla, strawberry Nesquick powder mix and a little milk to break up the powder and smooth it out.

The Cool Whip that gets added loosens up the cream cheese. You can replace it with homemade whipped cream if you’d like. The recipe I have on the blog would work great, but you might want to add a little more powdered sugar to it, so it’s thicker. Probably about 1/2 a cup for 1 cup of heavy cream.

And that’s it! Just let it set in the fridge – I usually leave it overnight. When it’s done, you can add more whipped cream and sprinkles. Don’t the sprinkles just make it so pretty?
