This sauce gives more flavor to this baked chicken and helps it to be tender, moist and juicy too. This sauce is so good that you don’t need to even use a chicken marinade.
Air Fryer Chicken Breast (10 Min, So Juicy!)
I promise that this chicken breast recipe will give you a good juicy chicken breast for dinner. So, don’t be afraid to bake chicken in the oven thinking that it will be dry and tasteless because this is one of the juiciest chicken breast recipes you will find online.
I also love this baked chicken breast recipe because it’s very quick and easy to make. No weird steps, nowrapping or brining needed. You don’t even needto pound the chicken breast with a rolling pin or meat mallet and you don’t need to use parchment paper either. The garlic butter sauce will bring all the flavors.
Some people like to season their chicken breast with spices and some brown sugar. but because I want to keep it low-carb, I didn’t add brown sugar. However, if you prefer, add one teaspoon of brown sugar to the spice mixture and season your chicken.
Pan Roasted Chicken Breasts Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Season chicken breast with salt, pepper and paprika. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. When the skillet is really hot add chicken breast. Sear until golden. It’s about 1-2 minutes each side.
3. Pour garlic butter mixture over the chicken breast.Place skillet in the oven and cook until cooked through. It’s about 20-30 minutes or until chicken breasts gets to an internal temperature of 165F.
4.Remove baked chicken from the oven. Using a spoon, pour some of the butter sauce left in the skillet onto the chicken breast before serving.
Boneless Oven Baked Chicken Breast
The baking timewill depend on the size of your chicken breast and also on the power of your oven. Some ovens have slight heat differences.
But according to USDA, a 4-oz. chicken breast should be bake at 350°F (177˚C) for 25 minutes or 30 minutes. But if the chicken breast is smaller then 4oz, bake it for about 20 minutes.
Baking times will depend on the size and thickness of the chicken breast. For example, if you have a chicken breast that is about 5 to 6 ounces, it will take approximately20 to 25 minutesto bake in a 400F degree oven.
Skillet Tomato Chicken {one Pan Recipe!}
It’s important that you use an instant read thermometerwhen baking chickenbreast to check that the internal temperature, which is 165°F (74˚C). And remember to always insert the meat thermometerinto the thickest part of your baked chicken.
Be sure to not over bake the chicken breasts to avoid them getting dried out when baked. We also put the garlic butter overtop the breasts so that there’s extra added moisture to it. This is how I make delicious baked chicken that retain all of their natural juices.
If you don’t have a cast iron pan, no need to worry. You can use a regular skillet to sear your chicken and when you’re ready to bake the chicken breasts, you can transfer them to a foil sheet pan, casserole or an oven-safe baking dish before adding the garlic butter.

Tip: if you bakeyour chicken breast in a sheet pan or casserole, add some potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli to make it a one-pan meal.
Cooking chicken breast (a boneless and skinless) in a hot cast iron pan is easier to cook the chicken breast because you have less chance to overcook it compared to baking it in the oven.

Healthy Chicken Breast Recipes
Though I personally have a preference for chicken thighs over chicken breast (better flavour, juicier!), I find myself putting chicken breast in my shopping trolley week after week.
Thus over the years, I’ve built up a wide variety of quick and easy chicken breast recipes – and this Honey Garlic Chicken is one of my favourite quick dinners that I find myself making over and over again.
Notice how the sauce is clinging to the surface? That’s because we dusted the chicken with flour so when it’s pan fried, it creates a crust.
How To Cook Chicken Breast In A Pan
There’s enough sauce to drizzle over veggies and soak into rice or whatever you serve it with. The flavour is strong enough such that you don’t need loads – a bit goes a long way!
Even though it’s got soy sauce in the Honey Garlic Sauce, this doesn’t taste specifically Asian-y. But it’s versatile enough that it will go just as well with Fried Rice as it will with a Macaroni Salador even Mac and Cheese. Yes really! Try it once and you’ll understand (it only takes 12 minutes, you’ve got the time!!)

Oven Baked Chicken Breast
1. Gluten free– use cornflour / cornstarch instead. It won’t brown quite as evenly but once covered in sauce, you won’t know the difference.
2. Soy Sauce – Light or all purpose soy sauce is suitable for this recipe. I don’t recommend using Dark Soy Sauce (flavour will dominate, bottle label will say if it is Dark Soy Sauce).
3. Other proteins:This sauce is ideal to use for any protein that is suitable for searing in a pan. Use chops, steaks, cutlets! Follow the recipe as written, including dusting the protein with flour. Just adjust the cook time – the trick is to add the garlic and other sauce ingredients before it is fully cooked through, so the meat finishes cooking as the sauce reduces down into a syrupy consistency.
Healthy Baked Chicken Breast Recipe
Tofu –Use FIRM tofu. Cut “steaks” about 0.75cm / 1/4″ thick. Pat dry, spray or rub with oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, THEN lightly coat with flour. Coat base of skillet with oil over medium high heat, then cook tofu 1 min each side until crispy, then remove onto paper towels. Then make the sauce in a small saucepan or skillet using just 2 tbsp (30g) butter (instead of 3.5 tbsp), following recipe from Step 5. Serve with crispy tofu!
Prawns/shrimp – use large prawns (thaw, drain well and pat dry if using frozen). Lightly coat prawns with flour per recipe and sear for 1 minute on the first side, then just 30 seconds on the other side before proceeding with Step 5.
Fish – cook per recipe for chicken breast. This sauce is very, very good with fish! This is a good sauce for economical fish because it’s a strong flavoured sauce. For expensive fish, I think it’s better to let the flavour of the fish come through and serve with an elegant sauce like this Lemon Butter Sauce.
