They’re a great way to kick off my mornings because they provide a sippable serving of fruits (hello banana peach smoothie!), healthy fats and fiber all in one glass.

The beauty of a good banana raspberry smoothie is that all you really need to do is add all your ingredients to a blender and let it work its magic.

The powerhouse combination of fiber, fat and protein in this smoothie makes it more filling and satiating than a smoothie that’s only fruit-based.

With oats: Add 2 tablespoons of rolled oats to give this smoothie a fiber boost or make this smoothie even more filling.

Mango Raspberry Smoothie

Banana Raspberry Smoothie Bowl: To make a simple smoothie bowl, make the smoothie thicker by only using 3/4 cup of milk. Be sure to use frozen bananas and frozen peaches to help you get that thick consistency. Once blended, pour into a bowl and add your choice of smoothie bowl toppings.

Raspberries: This recipe works great with either fresh or frozen raspberries. If using fresh raspberries you may want to add some ice for a creamier consistency.

Frozen banana: The banana adds some natural sweetness to this smoothie. You can use fresh or frozen banana in this recipe. If using fresh banana, be sure to add some ice for better texture.

Raspberry Banana Protein Smoothie {without Yogurt}

Greek yogurt: I used whole, unsweetened Greek yogurt for this recipe. For a dairy-free and vegan version, be sure to use plant-based yogurt in place of traditional yogurt.

Milk of choice: I used unsweetened almond milk but you can use any milk you like. Oat milk, cashew milk, and hemp milk would all work great in its place. If you like a thinner consistency in your smoothies, add more milk.

Honey: Honey is optional in this recipe, it adds subtle sweetness that is great if your raspberries are on the tart side. You could also use another refined sugar free sweetener in its place like maple syrup, coconut nectar or agave. Or for a low-sugar version, feel free to omit it, as the banana and raspberries will still add some sweetness to it.

I actually did use coconut yogurt in this recipe (you can use whatever type of yogurt you want) but even with that, I couldn’t taste any coconut. So I was thrilled.

Raspberry Smoothie (3 Ingredients!)

You can probably tell that this is a super thick smoothie. If you want it thinner, you can use milk instead of yogurt and you definitely won’t want to use a thick yogurt such as Greek yogurt.

I normally don’t put sweetener in my smoothies (one exception would be this paleo blueberry smoothie) but with not-so-sweet raspberries and avocados, the banana alone wasn’t enough to sweeten this raspberry smoothie.

The amount you’ll need depends on how sweet your bananas are and how big of a sweet tooth you have. I have a big sweet tooth and used 2 tablespoons but then it was nice and sweet and at 1 tablespoon per smoothie, I figured it’s not so bad.

Minute Raspberry Banana Smoothie

I used maple syrup because I love raspberries and maple syrup together, like in these raspberry cream pies, but almost any sweetener works. I personally wouldn’t choose coconut sugar because its darker taste would interfere with the light raspberry taste.

Half a mango would also probably work in place of the banana, but I’m guessing you’d still need to add some sweetener. It’d depend on your mango, though.

You also don’t have to add the avocado. If you don’t, you’ll almost definitely be able to omit the sweetener, assuming your banana is nice and sweet.

Vegan Berry Peanut Butter Smoothie

I wanted to test this recipe one last time today before posting and was bummed that I didn’t have any avocados. But then I remembered a bag that I had discovered hidden deep in the freezer!

I also used frozen raspberries but you can use fresh if you prefer. I can’t imagine using something so precious as fresh raspberries in a smoothie, though. It would feel so wrong. ;)

When making a smoothie, always read your blender’s operating instructions.
